When I think of nature I think of all the things that make up this world. Nature is all around us. I came up with the quote "Some of us are blind, even though we see to emphasize how unappreciated we are. We see but yet we are blind to the naked beauty of our environment.
When I was younger I use to stare at the sky with amazement. Often times I would sit and gaze towards the fluffy white clouds and wonder how and where did the rain come from. I would lay on the sandy dark gravel and count the stars. I would also watch the crops grow across the field from where I lived, and in astonishment ask how did the turnips and corn grow.
Growing up in Hayneville, I came across all types of animals such as: fox, deer, possums, horses, rabbits, armadillos, coyotes, and plenty of squirrels. I enjoyed the country life because there was very few cars that came by and I could walk almost every where. Some days my sisters and I would go hunting for berries and plums and enjoy the warmth of the sun as we skipped up and down the bumpy roads and hills.
My favorite time of the year was in the Spring because I loved to go horse-back riding. I was astounded by the many sounds the horses made. But what really amazed me was how bumpy the rides were and how the horses galloped through the hot damp grass. After, riding the horses for a long period of time they became tired and had unpleasant aromas. I was bewildered by the wet drippings of slob drooling from their mouths after a joyous day. I would loose track of time and often find myself riding until the sun went down.
